The Slide and Sort Range is the perfect solution for high end offices and foyers. It provides a completely integrated waste system which opens to reveal best practice waste diversion features, proven to maximise recycling.
The Slide and Sort Kit is designed to be built into locally constructed joinery, and so when the drawer is closed it seamlessly blends with the interior design.
Recycling options are then presented as the drawer opens with each brightly coloured and labelled lid secured on a steel top plate. This top plate seals the entire top and ensures waste is neatly disposed of within the differentiated apertures only, therefore maintaining the cleanliness of the internal drawer. When fully open the Slide and Sort top plate retreats back into the drawer, allowing the durable base bins to be completely removed and swapped for cleaning.

The kit is available in several configurations including both dual and triple stream options in 60 litre size and dual stream options in the 40 litre size. Lids can be selected from the extensive MultiSort range. This range of lids are manufactured in Australian Standard colours and feature differentiated apertures around which waste stream labels and symbols are printed.
It is important to discuss the configuration options with your cabinetmaker to ensure your selection suits your cabinetry dimensions.
The Slide and Sort kit is designed to be housed in an internal drawer, into which the mechanism is attached with the bases sitting on the drawer floor. The entire system then slides out from the carcass with suitable ball bearing runners (not provided). It is imperative that this drawer and carcass is manufactured to specific measurements. This will ensure that the Slide and Sort runners can be fixed to the internal drawer sides, and once in use, ensure that the sliding top plate has clearance between the installed lid tops and carcass rail, so that the top plate and lids can slide back into the carcass, to allow the bases to be lifted from the drawer.

In spaces such as clinical environments or leading businesses where there is a zero waste commitment, sometimes the Australian Standard colours and waste streams do not suffice. The MultiSort Lids colours, aperture and print can be customised to your unique needs. *

Our MulitSorts Base are made of LDPE and include a portion of recycled content. The Lids are all made of ABS, onto which we print directly. The Slide and Sort frame is a durable powdercoated steel construction. These materials are recyclable at end of life.
If recycling facilities for this type of product are not available through your waste collection contractor, or in your local area, take advantage of Source Separation Systems’ Circular Economy Program. You can return any of our products to our warehouse in Newcastle, and we will ensure it is recycled.
In this case any steel components are separated for recycling. The plastics are also separated into the unique types and colours, granulated and then used in the manufacture of new products.
We would recommend a Landfill lid for your Slide & Sort Kit. Red is the Australian Standard colour for waste sent to Landfill, so this red system with clear pictorial labels is easily recognisable, which reduces contamination and limits training requirements.
The worlds resources are limited. Sending items to Landfill limits the reuse of precious resources, and also creates environmental risks given the toxins, micro-plastics and gases associated with Landfill sites, which can escape into the wider environment. The aim of sustainability programs should be to minimise Landfill streams, and in leading organisations Landfill is eliminated with conscious sustainable ordering practices as well as recycling programs.
