The Step-On Wheelie bin is a cost-effective recycling solution for outdoors. It has the durability you would expect from a classic wheelie bin, with the added convenience of a foot operated pedal system and educational signs.
Australia has fully embraced the Wheelie Bin since its introduction in the seventies. The sturdiness and convenience of this system is well understood, both in terms of maneuverability for the user and the efficiency of automated collection.
Our Step-On Wheelie bin leverages this effective design, adding proven vinyl educational signs about recycling and a durable pedal mechanism, which allows users to access the unit without touching the lid. Such additions significantly improve the convenience, hygiene and simplicity of public place recycling and so drive better recycling outcomes.

This product is made of a combination of steel and HDPE plastics, and so can be recycled at end of life.
If recycling facilities for this type of product are not available through your waste collection contractor, or in your local area, take advantage of Source Separation Systems’ Circular Economy Program. You can return any of our products to our warehouse in Newcastle, and we will ensure it is recycled.
In this case the steel is recycled. The Polypropylene is separated into the unique colours, granulated and then recycled to be used in the manufacturing of new products.
Red is the Australian Standard colour for waste sent to Landfill, so this red system with clear educational graphics is easily recognisable, which reduces contamination and limits training requirements.
The worlds resources are limited.
